Confused: Our Story Continues…

Our Story Continues is our way to connect parents to what kids are talking about and experiencing in the Sunday morning teaching. We want to help to equip parents and spiritual parents with Scripture, talking points, and experiential activities to continue to disciple their kids well every day of the week.

Preschool

1-YEAR-OLDS

Series: Promises
Summary: In this series, children will learn that God’s promises always come true. God has made a great many promises, and we can know that he is trustworthy because what he says is always truthful. Children will learn about God’s promises to Noah, Abraham & Sarah, Isaac, and Jacob. Children will also discover that God’s promises are still true for us today in Jesus!
Big Idea: God keeps his promises.
Key Verse: “God has made a great many promises.”| 2 Corinthians 1:20
  1. SING Download “Books of the Bible” from The Meeting House Kids on Spotify or Apple Music or Google Play.
  2. READ the story of Noah’s Ark from a children’s Bible.
  3. MAKE a simple rainbow craft and let your little one know that God keeps his promises!

2-3 YEAR-OLDS

Series: Promises

Grades 1-5

Summary: In this series, kids will learn about the many ways that God has proven he is trustworthy right from the start. They will focus on the idea that God is a good God who can be trusted by discussing what trust is and why it is important in relationship.
Series: Genesis | Trust
Big Idea: We can trust God even when we don’t understand.
God Story: Call of Abram | Genesis 12:1-9
Key Verse: “I will make you into a great nation. And I will bless you. I will make your name great… All nations on earth will be blessed because of you.” | Genesis 12:2-3
  1. READ Genesis 12:2-3. Ask: What do you think Abram thought about when he heard all of this? What does this all mean?
  2. WATCH the video teaching below with your family this week. Talk about the video as a family. What stood out to you? What did you like? What did you want to ask a question about? (Tip: If it’s helpful, consider pausing the video as you watch it together, and ask questions or talk about things that stick out to you as you go!)
