Enemy Love: Our Story Continues…

Our Story Continues is our way to connect parents to what kids are talking about and experiencing in the Sunday morning teaching. We want to help to equip parents and spiritual parents with Scripture, talking points, and experiential activities to continue to disciple their kids well every day of the week.

Preschool

1-YEAR-OLDS

Series: Know
Summary: In this series, children will learn that God wants us to know him. Throughout the stories of the Old Testament, we can see God’s desire to have a connection with his people. Children will learn through the stories of Joseph, Moses, David, and Daniel as they learn what it means to be known by God and for us to know God.
Big Idea: God wants us to know him.
Key Verse: “Come near to God, and he will come near to you.”| James 4:8
  1. SING Download “Pray Every Day” from The Meeting House Kids on Spotify or Apple Music or Google Play.
  2. SHARE the Key Verse with your little one. Try sharing it in a sing-song type of way, even putting the song to a familiar tune like Frère Jacques: “Come near to God, Come near to God / And he’ll come near to you, and he’ll come near to you.” Isn’t that good news? Isn’t that good news? James 4:8, James 4:8.”

  2. PLAY make three different “presents” up for your child: one in a paper bag, one in a small box, one in a wrapped box. Ask them where they think the very best present is. (They will probably choose the wrapped box.) But put a candy or something they really like inside the paper bag, and boring things inside the other two. Show them that it’s not always what is on the outside that we see that matters. And God sees what’s on our inside.

Grades 1-5

Summary: In this series, kids will learn the beginning of David’s life story from musician and shepherd boy to king. Kids will discover that God doesn’t choose us for his purposes based on the way that other people choose, but by what is in our hearts.
