God’s View: Our Story Continues…

Our Story Continues is our way to connect parents to what kids are talking about and experiencing in the Sunday morning teaching. We want to help to equip parents and spiritual parents with Scripture, talking points, and experiential activities to continue to disciple their kids well every day of the week.

WALKERS

Summary: This week in kidmax, children learned that because God loves us, He speaks to all of us, and we can all listen in different ways!
Big Idea: God is with me.
Key Verse: “The Lord is with me. I will not be afraid.” Psalm 118:6

  1. PRAY Before bedtime each night, pray for your little one. Pray that they would know that God is always with them, all day everyday, and nighttime too! Say the Key Verse with them before they go to sleep.
  2. SING Download Yancy and Little Praise Party’s song, “Bye, Bye, Bye” from the album Happy Day Everyday on iTunes.
  3. READ the story of David’s life in a children’s Bible, or focus in on Psalm 23 if able. Highlight the ways in which God is with David throughout David’s life.

Grades 1-5

Summary: This week in kidmax, kids learned that God doesn’t see us like others do, he cares about what’s going on in our hearts.
Series: 1 Samuel | David
Big Idea: God helps us see people the way he sees them.
God Story: Shepherd Boy and Musician | 1 Samuel 16
Key Verse: “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outside of a person. But the Lord looks at what is in the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

  1. LEARN the Key Verse together as a family. Challenge each other to know it, and talk about what it means. Ask: how do we “look at” a person (or judge them)? How does God look at people differently? How do you think God sees you?
  2. WATCH the video teaching below with your family this week. Talk about the video as a family. What stood out to you? What did you like? What did you want to ask a question about? (Tip: If it’s helpful, consider pausing the video as you watch it together, and ask questions or talk about things that stick out to you as you go!)
  3. Check out the midweek activity page!
