Impossible: Our Story Continues…

Our Story Continues is our way to connect parents to what kids are talking about and experiencing in the Sunday morning teaching. We want to help to equip parents and spiritual parents with Scripture, talking points, and experiential activities to continue to disciple their kids well every day of the week.

Preschool

WALKERS
Summary: This week in kidmax, Walkers learned about God’s promises and how he always keeps them.
Series Theme: Promises
Bible Story: Promises | Genesis 6-9 (God’s Promise to Noah), Genesis 21:1-7 (God’s Promise to Abraham); Genesis 28 (God’s Promise to Jacob)

  1. SING Download “There are Promises” from the Little Praise Party Taste and See album. Sing along all month with this song.
  2. READ From a children’s Bible, read the story of Noah, Abraham, or Jacob. Highlight God’s promises to them, and that God has made a great many promises!
2-YEAR-OLDS
Summary: This week in kidmax, 2 year olds learned the promise God made to Abraham and Sarah.

  3. MAKE Create a starry night mobile with your child to hang over their bed as a reminder of God’s promise to Abraham, and how God always keeps his promises.

Summary:

  3. MAKE What are the things God promises to us? Make a collage of symbols or words that represent God’s many promises to us. God promises to love us, he promised Jesus as our rescuer, he promises the Holy Spirit to those who follow Jesus, God promises peace to his people, etc.

Kids

GRADES 1-5
​Summary: This week in kidmax, kids learned about Abram’s journey from his homeland into the unknown and how he did so just because God he trusted God even though he didn’t know where in the world he would end up!
Big Idea: We can trust God even when things seems impossible.
Series theme: GENESIS | Trust
Bible Story: Abram’s Covenant with God | Genesis 15:1-21
Key Verse: “I will make you into a great nation. And I will bless you. I will make your name great. You will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you. I will put a curse on those who put a curse on you. All nations on earth will be blessed because of you.” Genesis 12:2-3
  1. READ Genesis 15:1-6.
  2. WATCH the teaching video below with your kids. Discuss the question in the video. Learn the Key Verse together as a family. Discuss Lize’s story.
