Supper: Our Story Continues…

Our Story Continues is our way to connect parents to what kids are talking about and experiencing in the Sunday morning teaching. We want to help to equip parents and spiritual parents with Scripture, talking points, and experiential activities to continue to disciple their kids well every day of the week.

Series: Peace
Summary: In this series, children will learn that Jesus gives us peace.
Big Idea: Jesus gives us peace.
Key Verse: “Peacemakers will plant seeds of peace…” James 3:18, NLT

  1. SING Download “Jesus Gives Us Peace” from The Meeting House Kids on Spotify or Apple Music or Google Play.
  2. READ the following script with your little one:
    [Based off of Matthew 5:1-10]

Many people heard about Jesus. They were very curious! Everywhere Jesus went, lots of people gathered around him. Sometimes, there were so many people that Jesus’ friends, the disciples, couldn’t get near Jesus to hear what he had to say!
One day lots of people surrounded Jesus, so he went up on a mountain to teach. Everyone gathered around him to listen.
Jesus said, “God blesses the people who are poor and know they need him. The kingdom of heaven is theirs! God blesses the people who are sad because they will be comforted [hug child]. God blesses the people who have pure hearts because they will see God.” Jesus also said, “God blesses the people who work for peace because they will be called God’s children.”
When we work for peace, we will be called God’s children! That’s so cool.
Jesus taught many other things. We’ll learn about them as we read more stories about him in the Bible.
  3. PRAY with your child each night at bedtime that they would know the peace of Jesus.

  2. WATCH the video teaching below with your family this week. Talk about the video as a family. What stood out to you? What did you like? What did you want to ask a question about? (Tip: If it’s helpful, consider pausing the video as you watch it together, and ask questions or talk about things that stick out to you as you go!)
  3. Download the midweek activity page.
