Pray: Our Story Continues…

Our Story Continues is our way to connect parents to what kids are talking about and experiencing in the Sunday morning teaching. We want to help to equip parents and spiritual parents with Scripture, talking points, and experiential activities to continue to disciple their kids well every day of the week.

  3. DISCUSS & PRAY. This week we learned how Jesus instructs us to pray. In his prayer Jesus: gives thanks to God, asks for God to have his way on earth, asks for today’s needs, asks for help, and asks God to guide us away from sin. These are the sorts of things Jesus wants us to pray about! This week before bed, rotate through the various things to pray about and ask your little one what they’d like to pray for (e.g. What do you want to say thanks to God for tonight? What do you need God’s help with?).

Grades 1-5

Summary: This week in kidmax, kids learned how Satan tries to trick us with lie and stop us from living and loving like Jesus. BUT they also learned that God’s love is more powerful, and the truth of Jesus helps us to not be tricked.

Series: Characters

Big Idea: Satan lies, and lies are weak.

God Story: Who is the Devil? | A walk through the whole Bible! & Romans 8:38-39

Key Verse: “I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God’s love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can separate us.” Romans 8:38

  1. DISCUSS Our goal as Jesus followers is to live like Jesus. When we do things like lie we are not following Jesus’ way. Everyone lies or has lied. Some people lie to get out of trouble, some people lie to make themselves look better, and some people lie to avoid tasks. Why do you lie? How can remind ourselves to always be truthful?
  2. WATCH the video teaching below with your family this week. Talk about the video as a family. What stood out to you? What did you like? What did you want to ask a question about? (Tip: If it’s helpful, consider pausing the video as you watch it together, and ask questions or talk about things that stick out to you as you go!)
  3. Check out the midweek activity page!
