Transform: Our Story Continues…

Our Story Continues is our way to connect parents to what kids are talking about and experiencing in the Sunday morning teaching. We want to help to equip parents and spiritual parents with Scripture, talking points, and experiential activities to continue to disciple their kids well every day of the week.

WALKERS:
Summary: This week in kidmax, children worked together as a community.
Series: Community
Big Idea: We are the church together.
Key Verse: “Encourage each other and build each other up.”  1 Thessalonians 5:11
God Story: The Early Church | Acts 2:42-47

  1. READ the story of the early church in a children’s Bible or download the free e-book below!
  2. SING Download “Love One Another” on the Yancy Happy Day Everyday album.
  3. DO. Make an effort this week to set aside at least one evening for a quality dinner with your family at the dinner table (even consider inviting some spiritual family to join you!). Cook a simple meal together, get everyone involved, then all sit at the table and simply share some quality time. For Walkers, they may contribute by helping stir the food or be the taste testers!

2-YEAR-OLDS
Summary: This week in kidmax, children learned all about the very first church!
Series: Community
Big Idea: We are the church together.
Key Verse: “Encourage each other and build each other up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
God Story: The Very First Church | Acts 2:42-47

  1. READ Acts 2:42-47 in a children’s Bible or download the free e-book below!
  2. SING Download “Love One Another” on the Yancy Happy Day Everyday album.
  3. HOME CHURCH. Do you attend a home church? Is it family-friendly? If it is, while you are there, be sure to point out to your child that what you are doing at home church is a lot like what the first church did when it met together! So cool! If you attend a home church that isn’t family-friendly, inquire as to whether or not you could bring your child to visit that night OR find a family-friendly home church to check out. If you don’t yet attend a home church, find one!

Kids

GRADES 1-5
Summary: This week in kidmax, kids learned about the really radical change that Jesus made in Saul’s life, and about the radical change Jesus can make in all our lives.
Series: Acts | RADICAL
Big Idea: Jesus makes a radical change in our lives.
God Story: Saul Begins to Preach | Acts 9:19-31
Key Verse: “When anyone lives in Christ, the new creation has come. The old is gone! The new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

  1. DISCUSS the radical change of Saul’s heart. Can you understand why the Jews in Damascus might not trust him? What would you think if you were one of them? How could someone change so quickly?
  2. WATCH the video teaching below with your family this week.
  3. TALK about the video as a family. What stood out to you? What did you like? What did you want to ask a question about? (Tip: If it’s helpful, consider pausing the video as you watch it together, and ask questions or talk about things that stick out to you as you go!)
  4. Check out the midweek activity page!
